- There is a bridge in Waterloo about a mile and a quarter on the straight road from Blarney. It joins the town-lands of Ballygibbon and Knocknasuff. Its name is "Putland's Bridge", it is so called because it was Mr. Putland the landlord built it in the year 1815.
He built it to connect his lands on both sides of the river Martin. Up to that time there was no bridge only stepping stones for the people to cross.
There was a stone in the bridge bearing the date of its erection but when the bridge was blown up about 1921 the stone was lost.- Bailitheoir
