  1. We have lots of signs in the Country that tell us of a storm. Our chief sign in Blarney is to look over to Garbhach and if the clouds are very dark over it that is a sign of a coming storm. But that is only one sign. This is one which the old farmers used to use. When they heard a hen say "cluck" eight times they knew that was a sign of a storm. Perhaps you think that every minute of the day the hen says "cluck" but at this particular time the hen says it four times then stops, says it once and stops again, and last of all she says it four times and then all her little chickens gather round her and go into their shed.
