- There are two forges in this Parish.
The forges are situated in Coolowen and Killowen and are owned by Mr. Edward Murphy and Mr. William Mullane.
In these forges the smiths shoe horses, donkeys and repair ploughs, harrow's, cars. They also make car's, and timber harrows.
The two of these forges are about three miles from my house.
Mr. Edward Murphy is the best one of these smiths and the most people go to him. In each of these forges there is a bellows to light the fire.
