    A few hundred years ago there was great commotion one night in a graveyard somewhere near Grenagh. All the people who lay buried there decided for some unknown reason to leave and sleep in another place.
    When mid - night came all the people who were buried there arose, one of each family shouldered his own head - stone while his friends gathered round him caoining loudly. Thus the whole crowd set forth to their new resting place.
    We do not know the exact route they went but they are said to have crossed the river beneath Garrycloyne through the farm which is now Meany's. The next we hear of them is in Laughane, near the Sournagh where they were seen by a horse - man from Cork.
    Here four of them dropped their stones and they are to be seen there in a field to this day. They
