- There are six graveyards in my parish. They are as follows which is the newest where the patriot and churchbuilder Father Brennan who is laid to rest under the statue of our lady of Loudes out side one of the churchs he built.The next is the little lonely graveyard known as the Keal right under the shade of Clara Mountain and first used in the eighteen fitys the poor and unclaimed are buried there and a few other people who wished to be buried with them as those they loved the best. To my mind it is the loneliest spot in the world where the sun only shines for ? months of the year owing to the shade of the mountain. The third is in the town between the chapel and new cinema or the site of the old school house, the O'Leary family gave it as a church property about 150 years ago a lot of the outstanding families of the town have graves there, it is nicely kept and there are some fine monuments in it. The 4th is in Poundhill within the ground of the Protestant Church all the old Protestants of the parish are buried there. The Wallices, the Leaders, the Jones, the Burrows and a few of their Catholic servants whom they thought faithful and had none of their own people to claim them. The 5th is in Cullen near the Blessed well it must be there a long time as the chieftians(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
