It is said that when the ''Danes'' were in Ireland long ago, the Irish people used to hide the sacred things of the altar in the Forts. 5. A farmer, long ago, ploughed a Fort, and later one of his family died. Another name for a Fort is a lis. Long ago there was a tree growing in the centre of a Fort and a storm came and blew it down. There was nothing underneath it, and the inside was all built with some fine building stones. The owner of the land decided to get them out. He went in rooting them, and one fell on his foot, a neighbour went in for a load and he heard a voice saying ''Take no Stone Here''.
