- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)During John Deasy's time in Kilpatrick he made a sun dial for a man named Coveney. It was fashioned from an ordinary house slate. The lines curves, figures and inscription are the work of a master hand. Each month of the year is clearly shown with the days thus 1st, 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, 30th. Unfortunately this dial was broken a short time ago, but the pieces, with the exception of one small part, are carefully preserved. It is intended to present these to the Kinsale Museum.part of inscription
This dial was made for William Coveney in the year 1843 by John Deasy, Roscarbery.John Deasy left this district and finished his days teaching school at Barrack's Street Kinsale.- Faisnéiseoir
