- The local pig, cattle and sheep fairs are held in Dunmanway on the last Tuesday and Wednesday of every month, while there are generally four horse fairs in the year which are held quarterly.Ballinaboy house fair is the chief horse fair, and is usually held on the fourth of August. On the day previous to this fair, the annual Ballinaboy Races are held. The race course is a scene of much confusion. Tables of sweets and confectionery are ranged around the field, and gaily dressed tinkers try to dispose of their edibles. The "timble-riggers" and fortune tellers add greatly to the hubbub, besides the racing bookie. That evening the fair commences and is continued the following day.Different methods are adopted for taking animals to the fairs,(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
