The houses are all slated except one which is covered with iron. They are all ordinary sized houses except four which are lower than ordinary houses. The houses were much more numerous before the Famine Days and they are seen in ruins, especially in its southern end and on the side of Keen Hill.Land
The land is very marshy except for a small portion of it. A great portion is also very furzy. There is a small wood in the centre of the townland. There is no bogland except in the western side.Streams
A little steam known as Sean-Choill runs from the western end into Dunmanus Bay.
