There was a child scalded badly in Leimcon about two years ago.
The child, a little girl, belonged to Mr Donovan.
One day the child was running around the house, her Mother had just taken a pot of boiling water off the fire, and left it, uncovered, on the floor.
The next minute the little girl fell into the pot of water, but unfortunately she was badly scalded before her Mother had time to lift her out.
The poor woman, half distracted with fright, called some of the neighbours, and sending one for the Doctor, she did all she could for the child until the Doctor arrived.
When the Doctor came he could not do anything for the child, for she was scalded too much.
To everybody' surprise and joy the little girl shewed signs of recovery after a few days, and it wasnt too long until she was almost as well as ever.
