- (continued from previous page)Another part of the district was Diarmuid Ó Seaghdha na Bolgaighe. He lived between Glengariff and Adrigole. He go the gift of Poetry in the following way:-He was out fishing in a boat one night when suddenly a violent storm arose. Suddenly a woman dressed in white appeared to him and drew his boat through the rough waves to the shore. From that night forward he had the gift of poetry. Hereunder are some lines of a song he composed for a woman who refused him lodgings. It is said that the song cause the woman to lose her mind afterwards.
