- There was an old tramp there long ago whose name was John Releighan. He had a big high hat and whiskers almost down to his stomach. He came from Millstreet. When he was going around here he had a bag about six feet long. This bag used be full of old coloured papers. Every man and woman he'd see he would offer them a smoke of an old pipe he had.
One day he went into a shop in Rossmacowen. He asked for a halfpenny worth of each of the following:- tea, sugar, and tobacco. Then he got a big pot and filled it with water. He boiled the water and threw the sugar and tea into it. Everybody that passed he called them and asked them to drink some of his fine tea.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
