If he had any friend there, he went to them and they had a job ready for him. When he was earning money in America for a few years, he sent the "passage money" to the next member of the family. In this way all the family emigrated except one boy who stayed at home to take care of his parents and the farm.
For the past seven or eight years, the young boys and girls of Ireland emigrate to England, and very few of them can go to America. They earn a lot of money and send some of it home to their parents for Christmas. They come home for a holiday in(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
