"The Belle of Beara"

Some years ago men from Berehaven used to go to County Waterford digging potatoes. One day a crowd from Adrigole went there. They saw a little house and went in. There was a very old looking man sitting near the fire. He asked them what part of the country did they belong to. They told him they were from Cork. He asked them what part of the County Cork they came from. And they told him that they lived very west and that it would be no use giving him any directions as he never travelled that part of the County Cork before.
The old man said that he was out with the 'Good People' and that he travelled every inch of the County Cork. And he said that he went to Beara for 'The Belle of Beara' and that it was in Ballinacarriga she was. They went to Ballinacarriga for her and they found her and they were very happy until they came to
