Ar an leathanach seo
- Blackberries were used for dyeing. They were plucked and put into a basin and bruised. The thread that is spun on a linen wheel is put in and dyed a maron colour.
- They used to get logwood in town. It was like chips of wood. They used to boil the garment for a while. Then they used to add copress - like washing soda only it was green colour. The garment was brown when boiled in logwood and when boiled in both it is black.
- Put down a pot of white wool and indigo in water and boil it. A pot of black wool with logwood and copress makes it black. Mix the white and black and blue together. Break up the wool and put it on cards and leave it on scibs. Then roll it up and spin it on big wheels or small wheels. Then it is put on a big wheel or a small wheel. Then it is put on a warp line and rolled in big balls. One ball is for warp and the other is for the weft. That is the warp is used in the loom and the weft is for the shuttle.
The weaver lived in Portrun. His name was Paddy Murray. There was another weaver in Bracknagh called Paddy Egan. They died about(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile) - Faisnéiseoir
