    machine and reaper and binder which lighten the work.
    Later the corn was threshed by means of flails. This was very hard work. The flail was made of two pieces of hazel or holly sticks and these were very strong and tied together with a leather thong. The sheave was placed in the middle of the floor and two men with flails beat the grain out of the straw.
    The three hardest works were
    Baint Bualadh and Grafadh.
