Drimoleague. This means the back of the two stones. These two stones can be seen in Drimoleague old graveyard
There is a townland to the south of Drimoleague named "Coillmór". In this place there was a large wood and for that reason it was so called
Gortín Bhar. The land in this townland is very fertile. It means the tillage field.
"Moul na Sgeiche". This place was full of "Sgeach" bushes and is how it got its name.
Insangaothraig. This means the lowland near a river. It is covered with bushes and rushes.
Claisdubh. Is a low townland where the soil is black.
Cnocán. Is a high hilly townland two miles west of Drimoleague.
Cnoc Óg. Is a field where there is a small hill. It means the young hill.
