- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)It is said that tea first came to Ireland in the year 1854. It was brought by (Benjamin Franklin?) Bengium and Franklin. In those times people didn't know how to make tea, so they boiled it and strained it in a "seiff" and eat the leaves. Before cups became common it was earthen-ware was used. In olden times the people were ^not allowed to put any milk in their tea on Good-Friday or on Ash-Wednesday. They usent drink tea only on Christmas night.
