Many people had no table. When other people were eating they used to sit around the table and when not in use it was hung up against the wall.Lots of people made oatmeal cakes, these were wet with milk and water. They also made ((oatmeal)) yellow meal cakes. People in those days hadn't much meat, so lots of them killed birds with splinters, then they cooked these and eat their flesh.
