- (continued from previous page)time it would be all saddle horses used be at the wedding. The woman riding behind the man was called the "Cúlóg". It was an ould thing to have the saddle horses race with each other see who would be first to the girls house.
The wedding wouldn't go to the chapel until late in the evening and tis then the fun would be coming home, it used to be like a day of races. Sometimes when the horse would be going too fast the Cúlóg would be forgotten, but their wan one sure thing that the married girl would keep a good "Hoult" of her man.
One time a man from Lahana used be wailing every night in Shrove at the corner [opoulad]? Srufain (Drumohaque). Nobody knew what he was up to but late one Shrove Tuesday night he got married. He never saw his wife till that night and twas for her he used to be waiting. She arrived this night from Borlan. She was married before and brought with her all belongings.
