Baile-ara-liag-fuid.
Long ago Fionn was fighting single handed against the Northmen at a ford between Ballyleague and Lanesboro. After a whole day fighting against the warriers of the north he was getting fatigued and appeared to look as if he were beaten.
Sidhean the fairy duaghter of Morigan who was chieftain of Slieve Badgna in the parish of Kilgefin was watching the fight from the hill of ''Crish'' in Sleane and seeing that the champion was about to be defeated ran hurriedly across the bog of ?Dimynahiltha with a magic three cornered flagstone suspended from a golden chain.
This stone she gave to Ossian who gave it to Finn and using the magic stone he slew seventeen of his opponents. When handing back the flagstone to Ossian he let it drop into the water and it was never found but it is told that the(continues on next page)
