  1. Bread making.
    My mother told me the way boxty used to be made in her young days.
    She said someone would go to the potatoe heap and select some bog potatoes and bring them to the house and wash them clean. The woman of the house would then peel them she said.
    She would then get a cloth and put the grated potatoes into it and squeeze the water out of them. She would then get some flour and mix it with the grated potatoes in the basin. It is then ready for to bake.
