There was a man a long time ago called Rodger Farrell.

    (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)
followed him to capture him. He kept running through the bog in the direction of Ruskey but still they kept following him untill he approached the Slatta road which leads to Tamon. He kept running till he fell and they fired on him and wounded him. Then they carried him out to the side of the road between the boundaries of Slatta and Tarmon. Then a party of Yeo-ment came with their horses and brought him to Longford where he had first come from. He was afterwards brought to Carrick jail and poor Rodger Farrell died there. After that the Fenians came along and planed a bush at the place where he was shot by the Yeo-men. They also put two head-stones in rememberance of where he fell and all the people that pass by that certain place stand to look at it.
