Farewell Kilglass my birthplace I now must bid adieu
To all my friends and comrades, gay and kind old neighbours too,
My turn now has come at last, like some good men before.
And tomorrow at the dawn of day
I'll leave Kilglass once more.
So now to night before I go, I'll take my staff in hand
And visit every neighbour's house
in this dear old townland.
I will go see both young and old me
last farewell to take,
So a long farewell unto Kilglass
and the banks of Ruanne lake.
