Emblems
The emblems that are for Saint Patricks Day are shamrock and St Patrick's crosses and bridges
The mothers make crosses of different coloured ribbons for the little children and these are worn on their left shoulder. We also wear St Patricks medals and shamrock, but this year we had very nice badges in the shape of harps that we got from our teacher who got them from the Sisters of the Poor Shepherd Convent Co Donegal.
These emblems are all worn in honour of St. Patrick
The emblems for Christmas Day are holly, ivy and mistletoe. On Christmas Eve people go ever so far looking for a bit of holly to decorate their houses. They generally put it all round the pictures and in the windows.
The chapel is also beautifully decorated with leaves of holly sewn(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
