  1. Long ago there lived a very poor farmer named Feehily from near Elphin. He was always dreaming of crocks of gold being hidden about the place.
One day while he was working in the field he caught a leprechaun and threatened his life if he did not tell him where the hidden treasure was. The leprechaun tried many tricks to escape but all of no use.
After a long time he brought him to a big stone in the middle of his own field and showed him where the treasure was hidden. The farmer dug and dug and at long last he found the crock of gold and lived to be a rich man ever after.
