Alas! when she was leaving the feast she tripped and fell and lost the ring and some clever one picked it up and kept it. The poor girl asked for the ring to be restored to her but in vain. When she returned home the king said to her -"Ah! I know you were scorned by everyone at the feast" I was not, said she, because when entering I fell and immediately I became a beautiful lady". "Not a lady you mean, said the king, but an ugly thing". But alas; said she, coming out I stumbled again and lost the ring. The king was furious but said that he would give her
