Ar an leathanach seo

  1. The Greatest Mower.
    This man lived in a townland called Corlara. It is about two miles from this school. His name was Pat Cox. He was father of the present Pat Cox who is now eighty five years of age.
    One morning Pat went out to mow a field for a neighbour. In the field was a fort. Pat started off about three o'clock in the morning. He said to himself he would open up the field at the forth. As he started the scythe would not mow a wisp. He then went over to the coat where he had left his sidestone. Instead of the stone what did he get but a tiny wee hammer. He also heard a voice from the forth saying. "Rub it on the handle or blade" "Now my boy you can mow".
    Pat did as he was told. After that the scythe worked so quickly that he could not keep up to it. He could ever afterwards mow any field in a few hours. That is the way he acquired his art.
    There is another story told of another great mower. He lived in the townland of
