A shade is seen o'er Brackloon green
A sad and mournful sight:
All nature seems combined to weep
For this dear maid that's gone:
Tis Annie bán who o'er the deep
From Erin's Isle hath flown.
Farewell you hours of breathing love
Farewell you happy days.
For never more with Annie bán
I'll roam thro' pleasure's ways.
Her's was a mind of heavenly thought
A heart of purest core
May heaven's light ever guide the
steps of Annie bán Asthore.

Composed by Paddy Mulleague.
His writings were all in pen name "Ben Cor"
He lived in Brackloon near Castlerea at his parents home. Later became a school master and left school, finishing his days as a Poet. The girl referred to was Miss OHara, Tully, Castlerea.
