  1. Long ago in the townland of Loughbally there was a pot of gold found it. It is said that the man dreamt three nights in succession of it. He was told in his dream that it was hidden near his own house under a little hillock. After he had dreamt the third night of it he went and dug round the little hill and found the gold. It is said that this gold was taken from his own grandfather and buried there. The man that got this gold was called Connor and he built a house with the money. It is now gone to ruin and fairies are heard around that house still.

  2. One time Michael Shannon was going to a fair and he had it arranged with John Higgins that they would both go together. Early in the morning Michael Shannon went to John Higgins house. On his way in to the house he saw that there was light inside and the door was opened. When he went in the fire was lighted. He thought that John Higgins was out so he waited a long time but John did not come. Michael Shannon called him and where was he but still in bed. It is believed it was the fairies that had the light in the house
