  1. St Martin's Day. St Martin's Day is celebrated on the 11th of November. On that Day every person killed something usually a kid or some fowl and let its blood drop on the four corners of the house and behind the front door and on the door.

    The following verses are recited by the Wren Boys in this part of the country on St. Stephen's Day.
    The wren, the wren, the king of all Birds.
    On St. Stephens Day he was caught in the furse
    So up with the kettle and down with the pan
    And give us some money to bury the wren.
