He dropped the stone, and then the shop went on fire. Malice then told the shop-keeper that he would put out the fire, if he would give him the suit of clothes. The shop-keeper consented and then Malice stooped down, and picked up the stone. Malice then told the little man that he wanted to see the Pope, because the Parish Priest of his parish died and the two curates were contending for the parish, and he wanted to get a writing from the pope for one of them to be appointed Parish Priest. He got the writing, and then had to go home to be there before the cocks would crow. When he came home he gave the writing to the priest. Before he parted with the fairies they gave him a purse of gold, and he and his wife and(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
