All went well for some time. One night a Malice was going to bed, there came a tap on the door, and when he opened it, the little man told him that they wanted him. He went out. The little man told him not to speak, no matter what he saw or heard. Next thing he saw was a whole army of little men, all mounted on calves, and they gave one to Malice also. They told him again not to speak. Immediately the calves jumped the sea. When they were across Malice said: "Speak or speak not, that was a great jump for a calf." They asked him if he knew where he was, and he said no, and then they told him that he was in Rome. He then told them that he wanted a new suit of clothes, but he had no money to pay for it.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
