- This story was told to me by my father who heard it from an old neighbour named Kilbride who is dead about fifty years. About half a mile from our house there lives a family named Walsh and behind their house is an old garden in which a treasure is supposed to be hidden. The gold could be got only at 12 o' clock midnight. One night a party of men decided to dig for the gold. One man is supposed to hold a lighted candle in one hand and a bottle of holy water in the other hand while the others dug. They dug until they came to a large stone which was supposed to cover the gold but just then a gust of wind came and blew the candle and holy water from the man's hand. The men ran for their lives.
