  1. John Phelan Kevinsheath told me that he heard this story from an old man, John Rourke, who lived in Upper Sconce over forty years ago.

    Rourke took up the skib of potatoes and told him to take skib and all that he could bring back the skib when finished. The wife took an oat cake that was on the table and placed it over the potatoes, adding that they had another baked for themselves.
