- Erysipelas is not as prevalent now as years ago. When John Cahill was alive he cured a great deal of people in this locality, and when he was dying none of the two daughters would take the cure.Then he left the cure to Miss Cahill of Kyle near Timahoe.Some people were very weak. When the people would go to him to get cured he would scar himself and drop the blood on the spot where the Erysipelas was, and some times the people would get weak with the pain, and some times the people would have to be carried to the sofa, and maybe have to stop there for some time but when the blood would soak into the Erysipelas the pain would stop.
