    In Lord Castletown's erly life he went to fish in Granstown lake for pike. He and his gamekeeper, Mr. Byce, got into the boat. They were fishing for some time and at last a huge pike took the bait. His Lordship played him for over an hour. The pike became violent and made several attempts to overturn the boat and would have done so only that His Lordship let go the rod in order to save their lives.
    There is an old tradition that houses can be seen in the bottom of the lake on five days. It is said that this town was covered by the waters of the lake.
