- The Landlord of Drummond was unknown to the people. The rent was collected by a solicitor who served notice to the people on behalf of Messrs Warren and others. The people to whom I have spoken seem to know nothing about Warren and others. They do not know how they came to be Landlords of Drummond, when they became Landlords in fact the older people say that such people never existed, but if they doubted the existence of the Landlord, They were made fully aware of the solicitor, who collected the rents. The first act he did was to evict Catholics. If they paid their rent a few days late, he would not take it from them.
