When St. Joseph and the Virgin Mary were fleeing into Egypt, with the Devine Child to save Him from Herod, the Blessed Virgin, wishing to bathe the Holy Infant, went into a small dwelling. In this dwelling lived a poor, but large family, the youngest member of which, was suffering from a loathsome skin disease.
The poor woman welcomed the Divine Child and His Mother. She quickly set about getting the necessary things to bathe the Child.
When the Blessed Virgin has bathed Our Blessed Lord, she told the poor woman to place her stricken child in the water and wash him in the same water.
The woman did so and we may judge her delight, when she found her child was compeltely cleansed in the water.
