When anyone is cured at this well he generally leaves his crutches his walking stick or his bandages at the well. There is a story told that Davisons house on the Curragh took fire and the fire brigade was called. They got the water out of this well. They did not know that it was a holy well. They were several hours trying to quench the fire but they could not quench it. They got water from some other source and quenched the fire in a few minutes. There are no particular prayers to be said when visiting this holy well.
Father Moore was a very pious priest. It is believed that he was a Saint and many stories are told about him. It is said that the rim of his hat remains in a house in Rathbride. Still it is said to cure a(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
