When a man is getting married the second time, there is a very ugly custom here. It is called "boohing." The men + the boys make whistles out of cow horns + use them. Some break the bottoms out of bottles and blow through them. The crowd so engaged can be heard miles away. They go out two or three nights before the wedding, and on the wedding night, they are worst. The stay up all night blowing horns. Sometimes the man goes for the police but it is only a foolish man who does so because he is tormented then all the more.

In the year 1933 in the month of February, there was a big snow fall. A wind accompanied the snow and it drifted. Sheep + cattle were lost in dozens and all traffic was suspended for a week or more. The people had to melt the snow to cook. Children could not attend school and not their teacher Mrs. Leydon, who was imprisoned in the little school room
