    After three days suffering it is said that water sprang up out of the ground. Then when the Irish soldiers got some drink they grew strong again. It is said that they fought their way down the hill and defeated the English.

  2. Long ago when the Fianna were in Ireland their leader Fionn Mac Cumhall lived on the Hill of Allen. One day he jumped from the top of the hill to the bottom, and he landed on a great big stone. With the force of the jump his feet were planted in the stone. He picked up the stone and threw it from the Hill of Allen to Knockaulin.
