- During the Penal Days the priest had to offer Mass in the hills and fields. One day after the priest had said Mass at Bull Hill one of the people asked him where he would say the next Mass. The priest pointing said he would say it in that Sunny Croft beyond, and when a Church was built on the spot it was called Suncroft.
