"the whole graveyard must be yours". He said "what is fear". She said, "if you go to yon castle you will know what fear is". He went on to the castle. There was a bunch of keys in the door and he opened it. He went through rooms and rooms till he came to a big room with a big blazing fire. He pulled up a chair to the fire and warmed himself. Before long he heard a noise and a coffin appeared. He heard a noise in the coffin and he opend the lid and saw a man. The tried to lift him out but he didn't succeed so he tumbled him out. He warmed him by the fire and he came to life again. This man was going to beat him. Then he said, "is that the pay you are giving me after bringing you to life". If you hadn't spoke I would have killed you, many a man I killed here before". Then the man took the keys and opened doors and brought him to a place where there was plenty of money. He gave him a few bags of money and he had to pay some debt he owed and if he had any over he could keep it for himself. He had plenty of money left over and he was rich ever after.
My father Hugh Mullan, Genagh, Newbliss, Co. Monaghan told me this story.
