  1. There is a strange legend told about a crock of gold being hidden in the bottom of Lisabuck Loch.
It was placed there by the Danes when they were in Ireland. They killed a man and buried him in the Lis above the Loch leaving his spirit to guard the gold.
A man dreamt one night about the gold, and that he could get it if he got two black horses without a white hair and harness them to the crock by means of a chain.
This he did and when the crock was coming up a voice cried out "Is the guard asleep". Instantly a shrill whistle was given on the Lis and the chain broke and the crock fell back into the Loch.
It is believed that there was a white hair in the tail of one of the horses.
