   Roinn Roinn Postáil

   Hail and blessed be the hour and moment, on which the Son Of God was born of the most pure Vergin Mary, at midnight in Bethlehem in piercing cold.
   At that same hour vouchsafe O Lord, to hear our prayers and grant our requests.

   This prayer is said by many people for some days preceding Christmas, and some persons try to have it said four thousand times before Christmas Day, in memory of the 4,000 years the world was waiting for the coming of the Messias.

   May Jesus, Mary and Joseph, make our home like the home of Nazareth. Our hearts like thy own hearts. And bring us all from our home on earth, to our true home beyond the skies.

   There are four corners on my bed, there are four angels overhead. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, Goo bless this bed that I lie on. I lay my body down to sleep. I pray to God my soul to keep. And if I die before I wake. I pray to God my soul to take.
