So we can go throuh our county and we can boast a hurling tradition second to none in Eire.
Hurling has changed with the times and the game as now played is very different from the hurling practised here 70 years ago.
The first hurling matches here were Parish V Parish. The ball a wooden one rounded crudely by a knife sharp enough to do the job.
A side was picked after mass in the parish church and the same was done in the opposing mens' camp.
A spot in middle of the two parishes was chosen to start the game and the side that put the ball over the parish bounds of the other side first won the day. There was no limit to the number only each side had to have the same number of men starting
