    There is a story told by old people about a shoe maker that lived in Dunmore about seventy years ago. He never was called any name only Pat the Shoes. Pat was always in good humour always humming a rann or dún or ready to tell a story.
    He was mostly heard singing as he worked his trade.
    A neighbour returned from Australia and was believed to have amassed riches there. He did not seem to have a contented mind even though he had money go leór.
    He passed the shoe makers several times a day, and he always stopped to hear him singing as he worked.
    The rich one concluded that Pat was making money by [?] at his trade seeing that he was always singing or humming a tune or whistling a national air.
    He finally made bold to go in and inquire if he were right.
