- The farm yard is a place where there is always work to be done. It is a very busy place in the morning because all animals have to be fed. It is also a very busy time in evening around a milking time.
There is a good number of animals to be seen around the farm such as ÷ the cow, the horse, the pig, the sheep, the bull, the ass, the goat, the cat and the dog. The young of those animals are ÷ the young of the cow is the calf, the young of the horse is the foal, the young of the pig is the boinín, the young of the sheep is the lamb, the young of the ass is also called a foal, and the young of the goat is the kid.
The cow is one of the most useful animal on the fam. She gives us milk, cream and cheese, When she is dead she gives us meat. The meat is called beef. Out of her hide leather is made, and out of this footwear is made for us. Several of the old stories tell us of doings of famous cattle. Cattle are still very valuable to our(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
