  1. I live in the village of Gowran and near my house is a field which the old people say is haunted. Out in this field is a bush which bears no leaves or fruit. Some years ago a few girls from the village went to play a game of hide-and-seek in the field and one girl went to hide in a quarry or hole near the ddead bush. Her companions failed to find her for some time, and when they found her she was unconscious. They got friends to take her home where she lay very ill for some time. Everyone saw that all her hair at one [side] of her head was grey.
When asked what happened, she replied that a man dressed like a priest appeared to her, and laid his hand on her head, where the hair remained grey afterwards.
